The SOUL OF AFRICA Non Provit Organization
The Soul of Africa e.V non-profit organization was founded in 2004 and registered in the court of Essen in February 2005. The primary goal of the organization is to promote African culture. The organization has been declared as a non-profit organization by the tax authorities in Germany. Even before the organization got its present legal status several projects were realized in West Africa. Among them was the building of a natural medicine clinic in Dotou, Benin. And a learning program „youth discovering their own culture“ in the national museum of Porto Novo, Benin. Other projects the organization supports was to buy unwed mothers sewing machines to help them earn a living, paying school fees for needy children, and building a school in Benin.
In Oku, Cameroon we planned and built „The Soul of Oku Museum“. It is now our partner museum showing a beautiful collection of local art and culture.
The founding of the organization was the initiative of Henning Christoph and Markus Matzel.
